David S. Bickham, staff scientist at the Center on Media and Child Health and Children's Hospital in Boston, uses data collected from 1,200 different sources to discover the effects of media violence. He finds that a strong and consistent relationship exists between viewing violent media and increased levels of anxiety, desensitization and aggressive thoughts and behaviors among young people. This research was collected from a variety of different acedemic fields, including psychology, communications, public health, and criminal justice.
