Keegan, Paul. "Violence in Video Games and Other Media Can Cause School Shootings." Mother Jones, 1999. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. Web. 18 Mar. 2010
Paul Keegan, a journalist who has written for business technology and culture articles both for Mother Jones, and the New York Times, presents research demonstrating that vido game violence can cause school shootings. Keegan explains that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the two adolescents responsible for the shooting at Columbine High School, were very interested in the video games Doom and Quake. Keegan contends that the exposure to violence in these video games desensitized both Harris and Klebold, making them more prone to act upon violent thoughts.
