Papastergiou, Marina. "Exploring The Potential of Computer and Video Games for Health and Physical Education." Computers & Education 53.3 (2009) 603-622. Brigham Young University-Scholar Search. Web. 23 Feb. 2010.
Marina Papastergiou is a professor at the University of Thessaly in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science. She wrote this article about her research of whether or not video games would be beneficial to have in PE programs. She bases her findings off of research and studies that she found on the subject of whether video games 'present many potential benefits as educational tools for HE and PE, and that those games may improve young people's knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours in relation to health and physical exercise." By the end of this very, very long article Papastergiou comes to the conclusion that video games do in fact have the potential to be very beneficial in the physical and health education arena, though more hands-on research needs to be done to solidify this claim.
