Harbour, Jonathan. "The ESRB Rating System: A Gamer's Perspective." The Journal of Advancing Technology, 2006. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. Web. 16 Mar. 2010
Jonathan Harbour, senior instructor of game development at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona, presents research showing that the Entertainment Software Rating Board System is flawed. He contends that ratings can be confusing, due to the minimal differences between one category and another. The current rating system contains 6 different ratings between EC, standing for Early Childhood, and AO, standing for Adult Only. Harbour contends that fewer ratings should be provided, but more specific explanations should be included with the ratings.
